I Got my Book and Here's my Story!

Well, I got Eclipse, and the book was great. I absolutely loved it through and through! I guess I should start on my story now, right? So, here goes:
(Oh-Kandie says 'Hi' we've got her to feeling a lot better. Anyway:)

Yama drew her pistols.
'This couls be it,' she thought. 'This could be the day that I die.'
But she wasn't about to let that happen, she stepped inside the Uni-Phorm's command center.
Yama ruffled through all sorts of papers, trying to find her name amongst the expirements gone wrong.
"Gloom. . .Gomer. . .Goddick. . .Grare. . .no! None of these are right!" she yelled, thrashing her talons through the papers.
She stormed about the room, trying to find another center on the large map screens. There was nothing. She screamed in agony. How was she ever going to find out about the tests they did on her now?! Yama's heart was racing, she glanced around the room to make sure there were no security cameras. There were none. But then, she saw it: a folder lying in the middle of the room with her name on it. She walked forward and picked it up, concsious of her surroundings.
"Thank you, God," she whispered out loud.
She heard an alarm in the distance, but thought nothing of it. Yama flipped the folder open to the tab titled 'TESTS'. She sifted quickly through those papsers, a great sinking in her heart as she looked.
"Nothing," she said, and stuck the folder in her backpack.
With one last look around the Uni-Phorm's command center, she opened the heavy metal door that led into the chilly night air. Yama knew she only had a few seconds before a shock wave came rushing by. She calmly looked around for a place to jump to. . .there! She spotted a billboard-looking thing's ladder, and waited patiently for the next shock wave. The central Tesla coil sent a wave out, and she got ready to jump.
'Ready?' she thought. "Now!"
Yama jumped about eight feet and climbed the ladder hight enough until she was almost dizzy from the height.
"Where to now?" she said aloud. "Ah, how about a little swinging?"
She spotted a nearby horizontal pole and jumped to grab it. She swung around a few times, but that must've been a few times too many, because the pole cracked and sent her crashing to the ground.
With a grunt she landed in the snow. Yama cursed herself for not knowing that the cold metal would crack with the night air and her body weight. She pushed up off of the ground and immediately spotted two guards coming around the central building to check out the fallen light. She frantically whipped her head around, looking for a place to get away from them; there was nowhere.
'Great going, you big fool!' she thought. 'You just got yourself killed!'
